Ripley's Ringworm - Under His Nostril

Yay! A Christmas present from my cat.

Ringworm.

Great. Another vet visit to check out the weird colouration under his left nostril (see the pic above) which turns out to be ringworm. Irritation from that explains why he was constantly licking his nose.

He was thoroughly scanned and examined to see the extent of the infection and it looks like only that part of his face is affected.…

Ripley reclining in his hammock

Last night, I noticed that Ripley was having difficulty urinating again and cystitis has reared its head again. He’s been hopping in and out of different litter trays trying to urinate with little success.

I’m just back from the vet and they’ve taken him in for observation. They had to use a needle to extract urine from his bladder due to the blockage in his urethra.…

Ripley On The Bed

I just collected Ripley from the vet where’s he’s been under their care for the last 2 days.

The urine test showed that there had been a buildup of crystals in his bladder and these had deposited in the urethra to cause the blockage that prevented hin from urinating.

The vet manually manipulated the urinary tract to get the urethra flushed out.…
